Ntozake Shange's choreopoem, For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf, has already impersonated a Bond martini - James Bond.  Ms. Shange's masterstroke has "shaken, not stirred" this blogger's inkwell.  Punch post-drunk, i. e., dissOrientalized, one currently revisits the legendary title:

DoubleOhSeven.  Double Consciousness.  George Zimmerman has a psychic twin; her name is Antoinette Tuff.
August 20, 2013:

February 26, 2012
George Zimmerman murders teen, Trayvon Martin.

Mr. Zimmerman and Ms. Tuff share the identical interstellar amniotic sac.  For real tho'; they do.  Their respective encounters - a year and a half apart - amount not to eighteen months, the equivalent term of two pregnancies.  Rather, February 26, 2012 to August 20, 2013 is a cosmic minute millisecond - separating twins at birth.  These two - events as much as individuals - are bound forever in the contracting womb of existential socio angst.

One fateful summer witnessed the results - astounding as resounding - in what A Course In Miracles claims is the only choice any of us ever makes: that between love and fear.  There seems no recess in the excess of post-verdict vitriol.  From that smog of social media emerged one voice.  In a twenty-four-hour news cycle, a twenty-four minute 9-1-1 call, starring Ms. Antoinette Tuff, silenced divisive chatter with a compassion to shame archangels.

[anticipate long stretches of silence]

A Course In Miracles acknowledges hate in only one context - as an illusion masking fear.  Fear is our primary negative ion.  Even mo', my good peops?  That ion is a lie.  Negation of our truth is a choice.  Decisions - beneath us - are not judged but instead, mourned.  We can claim 'free will' - sho' nuff.  Ironically, choosing the fallacy of fear strikes one - humbly - as more bondage than liberation.  Our truth is love and truth is beauty.  Fear is the rejection of our natural state.

"It suppresses the truth of who we are."

Beauty.  Ms. Tuff chose truth.  She saw beauty in a man - professing his own mental instability, with a loaded AK-47, and no desire to endure.  Conversely, Mr. Zimmerman - hooded in his own fear - denied the beauty of a child with candy in his hand, a friend on his cell phone, and a basketball game on his mind.

In about the span of time parting the birth that twins share, Antoinette Tuff was hailed a heroine.  'Twas long ago in the last week of August.  On with September.  To Syria - and its 'red line' - the top arch of rainbows in a shade too close to H2Omelon.

George Zimmerman, contrarily, is still the most convenient of villains.  This reductive label further disables an opportunity acutely prime to explore Ism's real crime.  Fear.  Fear of a black hat hoodie.  Upon no shoulder in our electorate has one encountered two miniature, Grecian-robed, blind-folded Lady Justice-s.  One head is not bowed below some halo with altruistic wings aflutter, whilst another - in exaggerated gangsta lean - is pimped out in devious horns.  That good/bad myth pales in comparison to the exceedingly challenging proposal of love/fear.

Ms. Tuff made her choice in the face of a fear that too few realize we are all quantumly designed to conquer.  That was one hurdle that would have been admirable enuf.  However, this Other-ed Ethnic XX chromo agent told the Dominant Cult XY chromo assailant that she "loved" him.  He - and we - believed that she meant it.  This full-circle Agape would be stunning if we were equipped to absorb such beauty of being.  Empathy is an arc.  That rainbow - eva a fickle phenomena - shows its face post-storm.  However, the altruism of Ms. Tuff is not at the mercy of the ideal angle to bend her light.  Her spectrum?  It orbits.  Both established astronomy and our egotistical autonomy have yet to discover the Tuff path.  Perhaps that accounts for the limited exposure of her ordeal example.  Public discourse seems hushed in its capacity to comprehend depths of grace.

Before us is one regal Antoinette.  She, unlike her Rococo predecessor, has nourished our post-proletariat with sustenance unimaginable from homezgentry pastry.

Fear?  Alas, we get. "Let 'em eat cake fear."  Mr. Zimmerman acted from it and that fear took the life of an unarmed boy.  The polarizing response to the verdict, along lines of post-identity, suggests many felt the death of a child was justified - due to fear.  Some seem to understand this fear well and advocate indulgence of it and any cost - even sacrificing the mortality of a minor.  Still, such is our choice - always generous in alternative.  And choices?  One laments the collective underestimation of their power.  A choice cannot be an act of POSTness - carried upon THIS/THAT wind and left in it to twist.  Twins.  Polarity has its purpose.  Might the most consequential choices amount to little else than our fundamentals once flipped?  A choice can derive from the masquerade of fright which is nuttin' but air - blown.  The exact same choice can be stilled by a benevolence that only knows to come correct and keep deeply grounded.  If so, 'dig' it, yo:

Every choice is a subtle truth-seeker;
each choice is a delicate chance to beautify.

Choices are consciously made - moment to moment.  When shrouded in the toga of Isms, these crucial decisions - which create the dynamics of Encounter - become our socio karma.  The concept is by no means mystical.  Sir Isaac Newton rated it not first nor second but third place:

"For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction."

Forsooth, the Tuff/Zimmerman contribution to post-conscience is tantamount.  Both are universal signals to choose sum'in beyond precious in its potential - each other.
